Education
I am currently a high school student, entering my sophomore year. I have a weighted GPA of 4.50, and have taken or am taking 3 Honors classes. I am two years ahead in mathematics of the average student in my class, so I'm taking a senior level math course (Trig/Pre-Calc). I hope to major in Plant Genetics, with an emphasis on Plant Breeding, with the intent to become a plant breeder/geneticist.
Experience
Tutoring has long been a desire of mine, but I haven't found the right ways to get myself out there. I want to be a tutor because I believe that I have a lot to offer my students, no matter what their age. I have helped two young children with their early reading and writing skills for the past three years, and their parents were quite impressed. While I am aware of the fact that you may want a more experienced tutor, you might be overlooking the benefits to my being younger. I have learned the subjects I tutor much more recently, and I can better relate to the student due to our comparatively smaller age gap. For these reasons, among a host of others, I believe I could be a great tutor for your child.

Hobbies
As a life-long animal lover, my hobbies mainly revolve around my pets. I take care of my pet rabbit, his hutch and enclosures, and feed my dog and four fish. I also love to read and write (mostly historical fiction for both), as well as the occasional knitting and sewing. While I very much enjoy genetics and horticulture, I'm afraid I cannot claim to know enough about those subjects to tutor your child in them. Other than that, I have recently taken up archery, boxing and badminton, and have started restoring furniture with my mother. Unfortunately I don't play any school sanctioned sports, although I used to participate in school softball, volleyball, and track and field. Much to my chagrin, I am simply not athletically blessed.
